Route description
This is a proposal for a longer off-road trip in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. It includes a package of five routes designed for five days of driving.
The base is the castle in Sobków – a restored 16th-century fortification with a boutique hotel and restaurant. On-site activities include knight shows, carriage rides, horse riding, and in summer also kayaking on the Nida River.
The total length of the routes is 821 km, and each one takes around six hours to complete. The routes vary in difficulty – from easy to demanding, with additional sections for those interested.
The first route is 84 km and is difficult. It leads through wet meadows along the Nida River, ravines, steep climbs and descents, and a river crossing. Along the route there are, among others, the ruins of the castle in Chęciny and the open-air museum in Tokarnia. The second route is easy and has 241 km. It leads to the palace in Kurozwęki, the ruins of Krzyżtopór Castle in Ujazd, and to Opatów.
The third route is 183 km and is difficult, with additional sections of higher difficulty. The fourth, 193 km long, is easier and runs through mountainous terrain. The fifth route is 120 km and is not a loop – it leads to Krzemionki Opatowskie and Bałtów.
